fair fun - fun fair

My tiny space at the Sunday Market!

It was such a nice day last Sunday. The weather turned out okay, I enjoyed sharing my stand with 'the other Maartje', met online people in real life (that's so weird sometimes!), sales weren't that bad and the Etsy meeting afterwards was so much fun too!

Other 'remarkable' things:
- I didn't buy anything...!
- instead I came home with loads of business cards
- the discovery of a soya cappuccino
- people only bought my old stuff, heehee
- I was a bit nervous to meet everyone
- going home and unpacking only took me 20 minutes, yay for living nearby.

Till the next meeting I guess!

a market in autumn, are you crazy?!

Can you imagine... a post about the Sunday Market without pictures!? You just have to believe what I'm telling you :) To be honest, when I woke up on sunday morning I didn't feel like going there at all. It was just too cozy at home and outside it was dark, cold and windy. But actually it wasn't as bad as I expected. Okay, my lips did turn blue in the end, but at least it was dry and the wind calmed down in the afternoon. I also had really good company, nice neighbours, a chance to pretend this cute stuff was mine while watching her booth for a little while, and yaaaay, I even made a profit :) The sales were much better than last time and I had lots of nice comments. Pfew, welcome back confidence!

The good, the bad and the craftymarkt

Last Sunday I took all my Mamutopia stuff to the Craftymarkt in Amsterdam. I had a great time: lovely weather (I even needed some sunscreen...yes, in september!), sharing a booth with Maartje from Tizzalicious, nice comments and meeting other sellers.

The only thing......my sales....they were nowhere to be found! Of course I did sell some of my products, but not as much as I hoped, or expected. It also wasn't that busy, although Tizzalicious did extremely well (and I'm really happy for her, I think I'm gonna be her assistent!). I don't know why, maybe it was just bad luck. Of course it makes you think about your work: is it stupid, too expensive, or bad looking? I got slightly worried, but on the other hand, the fairs I attended so far all went pretty well. So I try not to think or worry too much about it. In two weeks there's another craft fair...we'll see what happens there!

Apart from the sales it was so cool! I had a lot of fun with Maartje (we really have a similar taste!!), met the lovely Teresa from Beejoux with whom I'll be sharing a booth at the Sunday Market, talked to people I 'knew' online but had never seen before and I managed to take all my stuff ALONE by BIKE. That must have looked a bit silly: me with lots of bags and a huge backpack on a mint green bike :)

Oh I almost forgot, there actually is a good thing about not selling too much: I don't have to prepare a lot for the next fair :)

please recycle me!

On september the 20th I have a booth at the Craftymarkt in Amsterdam (together with Tizzalicious!). The theme of this craft fair is Plastique Fantastique and it's all about recycling. Of course you'd already planned to come and say hi, but there's an extra reason to visit....there are goodiebags available! I donated these little recycle friends with cute stamped tags :D

craftparking fun

Almost forgot to share this video with you! Maria from LeelaBijou (or actually her boyfriend!) made a video of all the etsy members at Craftparking in Maastricht. I'm in there as well....somewhere! Haha, it such a happy film, I really enjoyed watching it. Oh and don't forget to turn on the music :D

craftparking

Last sunday I attended Craftparking : a craft fair in Maastricht, the south of the Netherlands. At first I thought it wasn't going to be busy, because of the location, but I was totally wrong. It started really good: lots of people, nice comments, I almost ran out of business cards and sold quite some products as well. Although I already spent my profit on etsy today :) In the end it was pretty quiet, but I was tired so I didn't mind.

There were a lot of Etsy people and the organisation put us all together :) It's always so strange to see people you 'know' from the internet in real life. Sometimes someone looks just as you expected, sometimes it's totally different! I only made one stupid picture of my table, but on Artminds blog you'll find a whole selection.

Oh and I ate carrot cake in Maastricht too....yumm!

craft fairs coming up!

Suddenly I realized the craft fairs I'm planning to attend aren't that far away anymore. The first one is in less than two weeks, eeeek! A little summary:

Sunday august 16th : craftparking Maastricht
It's a pretty long trip from Amsterdam to Maastricht, so my boyfriend (my market partner in crime because I can't do it on my own!) and I decided to stay in Maastricht the whole weekend. Like a little vacation before we both have to work again. This craft fair is new to me, so I'm really curious! I'm hoping for some nice summer weather.

Sunday september 20th : craftymarkt Amsterdam
Last edition was super, so I definitely didn't want to miss this one. The fun part is I'll share my stall with Maartje from Tizzalicious! I'm looking forward to it, it's gonna be so much fun! Expect an overdosis cuteness :D

Sunday october 4th : sunday market Amsterdam
The lovely craft fair in my backyard! Luckily I don't have to be here on my own either, because my stall partner this time is Teresa from Beejoux : handmade with bee love. I haven't met her yet, but we already wrote a couple of emails, so it seems as if I know her already!

Are you coming too?

sunday market

Last sunday I went to the Sunday Market in Amsterdam to sell my mamutopia stuff. It was so much fun! I really enjoyed this market: it's pretty big and there are so many nice and cool products. Plus I loooove the location. And not just because it's almost in my backyard :)

This time I shared my booth with Angélique from zoet-stof and buroSLIM which was super nice! It's always good to share experiences and talk about craft related things :)
The market started really slowly I believe, but in the end it turned out alright. I sold pretty well and received lots of nice comments. We also had some rain, but I made my pictures when we still had sunshine!

Yep, that's me (in my new polka dot dress!)
A miracle, because I never ever post pictures of myself!

Oh, look at the cute green fellow from zoet-stof sitting behind the booth.

Fortunately I had some time to walk around myself:

At the end I was pretty tired, but satisfied!

finished...just in time!

Hooray, we're going to the fair too!

sunday market

Sunday 21 june: another Sunday Market in Westerpark, Amsterdam

And I'll be there too!

So no reasons to skip this cool fair :D

I'm really looking forward to it! It's only a couple of minutes away from my home, so I'm able to bring everything by bike, haha. And I still have a lot of products left from the last craft fair, how nice. This time I really want to visit other booths and sellers, because the last time I was too busy with my own stuff and too shy.... :) Oh and it's the start of the summer, so I have no doubts about sunny weather...

YAY, I can't wait!

the day after

Hello! It's the day after the craft fair, I'm still tired and sleepy, but I had sooooo much fun!! It was such a happy day :D The weather turned out really nice, except for the wind that almost blew my little products away. I had to attach everything, otherwise my clothes pins would end up all over the place, hihi. It wasn't really busy, but I did make a profit (hooray!) and received a lot of nice comments. My button rings and brooches for example sold pretty well, but most people didn't understand my happiness package.

I shared my booth with Isis du Jour so I didn't had to fill up 4 meters all by myself. Such a relief, no stress this time. And besides, it's much more fun than being alone :) Also talked to some other sellers which I really enjoyed. It's always nice to hear things from fellow crafters and talk about each others experiences. And I found someone to share a booth with at the next market in june, yay!

The market gave me also a lot of inspiration, motivation and confidence. I almost feel as if I'm on top of the world, how crazy is that? But I don't complain :D Today I'll take a day off, stay at home (it's going to rain anyway) and do only things I want to do. Ha, I think I deserved it!

craftymarkt

Next saturday I'm selling my mamutopia stuff at the Craftymarkt in Amsterdam! Some information for the dutchies:

Yay, I'm so excited and really looking forward to it. Last weeks I made a lot of clothes pins, memo boards, button rings & brooches and a whole army of pincushions. And now I'm almost done, what a relief! No stress this time :) The only thing I'm slightly worried about is the weather, because the forecasts aren't so nice (rain go away, I don't need you this weekend!). We'll see, maybe it isn't going to be that bad after all. At least my booth has a little roof!
