My public library had an exhibition about Dick Bruna. Some of you (definitely all the Dutch) might know him from Nijntje or Miffy. But what I didn't know was he also designed a lot of book covers and this exhibition showed 2000 of them! It was fun to look at and I took some photos of my favourites. There were even a couple of Moomin books.

If i was still in Amsterdam, i definitely stopped by the library to see this! By the way, has the main library already moved to their new location? Is it gorgeous?
ReplyDeleteHe did Moomin books??? I never knew that or that he did other bookcovers. How cool! Thanx for sharing
ReplyDeleteI used to read Dick Bruna as a child. In fact, it was my first book!
ReplyDeleteismoyo: yes, the main library is now next to central station. If you're in Amsterdam again, you really should visit and drink something on the 7th floor! It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNou wat leuk zeg! Wist ik ook niet... Fijn dat je wat foto's hebt gemaakt en geplaatst, kunnen wij ook zien wat Dick Bruna allemaal wel niet meer heeft gedaan.
ReplyDeleteI love love love dick bruna, I didn't even know he got involved with the moomin books. Dick Bruna + Tove Janesson = the most magical world I can imagine!
