Have you ever seen a button tree?
The reason I bought this wooden tree was because it would be perfect for displaying my buttons at a craft fair. But now I think I'll keep it in my living room, because I totally fell in love with it! Maybe I can use it as a Christmas tree, or transform it into a birthday tree with my new little buntings, or use it for Easter.....endless possibilities!

Have you already seen the tiny things series, knitted by Anna from Mochimochi Land? She knits the smallest things, from a tiny toothpaste and a tiny mailbox to a lollipop and this little forest:

The good, the bad and the craftymarkt
Last Sunday I took all my Mamutopia stuff to the Craftymarkt in Amsterdam. I had a great time: lovely weather (I even needed some sunscreen...yes, in september!), sharing a booth with Maartje from Tizzalicious, nice comments and meeting other sellers.
The only thing......my sales....they were nowhere to be found! Of course I did sell some of my products, but not as much as I hoped, or expected. It also wasn't that busy, although Tizzalicious did extremely well (and I'm really happy for her, I think I'm gonna be her assistent!). I don't know why, maybe it was just bad luck. Of course it makes you think about your work: is it stupid, too expensive, or bad looking? I got slightly worried, but on the other hand, the fairs I attended so far all went pretty well. So I try not to think or worry too much about it. In two weeks there's another craft fair...we'll see what happens there!
Apart from the sales it was so cool! I had a lot of fun with Maartje (we really have a similar taste!!), met the lovely Teresa from Beejoux with whom I'll be sharing a booth at the Sunday Market, talked to people I 'knew' online but had never seen before and I managed to take all my stuff ALONE by BIKE. That must have looked a bit silly: me with lots of bags and a huge backpack on a mint green bike :)
Oh I almost forgot, there actually is a good thing about not selling too much: I don't have to prepare a lot for the next fair :)

craft fair preparations
More party items from yours truly:
For the craft fair I already made some mini buntings, but now I also have these special cupcake buntings made from.... surprise surprise... a lot of cupcake liners! I used my favourite liners with red and white polka dots and strips. So let the party begin! :)
Hmm, I wonder if they actually sell, but I had a lot of fun making them. And if they don't, I'll use them for my own birthday, ha!

more work in progress
It's all about craft fair preparations these days! Last sunday I made a bunch of mini buntings and I'm quite happy with the result. I decided to call them 'vlaggenfeest' in Dutch, English translation will be... uhm ' flag fun'? I still need to make some more though, so what am I doing here? Oh and I'm planning to add them to my etsy as well (if I can find some spare time somewhere).

must-see-monday
A somewhat different must-see-monday this time! I picked a new flickr group called ' What I wore today'. When I see the drawings in this group I really wish I could draw! My own drawings are awful, it still looks like a 3 year old is doodling :) I have tried to draw properly, but it's just a big failure I'm afraid. Sometimes I have these (simple) drawings in my head but when I sit down with a piece of paper it just won't work. Ah, I hate it!

On september the 20th I have a booth at the Craftymarkt in Amsterdam (together with Tizzalicious!). The theme of this craft fair is Plastique Fantastique and it's all about recycling. Of course you'd already planned to come and say hi, but there's an extra reason to visit....there are goodiebags available! I donated these little recycle friends with cute stamped tags :D

weekly happy stats
Pfff, what a week! It was extremely busy at work, so in the evenings I was too tired to spend much time online or working on mamutopia stuff. As a result I have an overflowing google reader, a neglected twitter and etsy, but strangely also a lot of inspiration! I haven't planned anything special this weekend, except for groceries :), so hopefully I can spend all my time on craft, online as well as offline. I'm really looking forward to it, because next week will be busy as well. Happy weekend everyone!
